Taboo
Watched this documentary, Taboo, on arts central juz now at 10pm... About spirits possession. showed the rituals involving spirits, shamans, exorcism... Den there was a part on the charismatic Pentecostal churches... Extreme lor... God is good but believers are only human. I was telling my mum, and to all who reads, that the bible teaches us to worship the Lord with our minds... When the Holy Spirit is in you, u will know what you are doing you are still in control - God will not let you lose control of yourself becos self-control is also the fruit of the Spirit. the documentary compared the possession of the holy spirit to the rituals in African rituals - both with music, lots of excitement, dancing and then possession. In both cases, the worshipper has to give up self control to let the spirit be in total control... But a spirit that takes always your self control of speech and/or behaviour is not a spirit from the Lord man... To give ourselves into total surrender of God is out of freewill and rational commitment, not because we are “out of control”…
